The Traction Master series of clutch plate LSDs was devised for grueling high speed Motorsports use, yet its smooth and refined performance is an ideal compliment to a street BMW.
Like the rest of our VAC components, these differentials were born from the extreme demands that we place on all our products.
After testing and racing with a plethora of differentials available in the market place, we felt that a truly state-of-the-art differential that was robust, linear, and precise was not available to the BMW racer for less than $3000 so we set off with this plan... and bested our goals.
The product you see here is practically the best BMW differential money can buy and certainly the best value: innovative in design, strong enough for the punishment of any drive train, customizable and flexible to the client's driving style. Made for us in the UK, each one of these BMW LSD units is crafted with world class attention to detail.
A clutch plate LSD was devised for the grueling use of high speed Motorsports use. Gear driven diffs work very well when the chassis is ideally setup, but with different tracks and different grip levels, we found the consistency of a clutch plate design offered the most consistent feedback to the driver. Unlike other units that are simply modified designs from Japanese automobiles, our VAC diff offers a purpose built level of performance. Finally, each Traction Master LSD is also adjustable for different taste and skill level: from club racing to world-championship level Touring Car, Targa / Rally driving, to high speed road use:
