Any issues related to the delicate bores and wall thickness issues of the BMWs M6X and S62 V8s can be nearly eliminated, and in most cases fixed forever with VAC's world-class Cylinder Sleeving Service.
This is a very delicate and time consuming job, many machine and race shops mistakenly think they can do it successfully but we have seen issues repeatedly.
With your engine in VAC's hands; you supply a bare block along with the main bearing caps and we do the rest!
- Each VAC sleeve designed for this application is $125 (x 8)
- A V8 piston set to the required specs from CP pistons is $1,499.95 (+$50 for some custom apps). Includes their premium rings, pins, and locks.
The job starts with full clean, check, and degrease the block.
The block is then jigged to be machined with special tooling that we made in house, just for this job.
We then bore the block to fit the new VAC sleeves and the bores are checked. A proprietary process is perfomed on the block to ensure excelent heat transfer and reliability.
Next, the sleeves are measured for tolerances and machine pressed into the block. These sleeves are bored to your required size and precision honed to fit new forged pistons required with the new sleeves.
