The M10 / M30 Cylinder head design has very short valve guides and a heavy valve train.
This causes the guides to wear quicker than most engines. This is most commonly seen on tired M10 engines in 2002s that seem to be smoking out of their tail pipe, regardless if the seals were recently replaced.
