VAC Motorsports is your source for Alusil Compatible Mahle Motorsport Forged Pistons.
The BMW V8 has an Alusil-plating on its cylinder walls, with the block made of aluminum and is therefore not compatible with any traditional aftermarket forged-aluminum piston.
When rebuilding these motors, sleeving of the block is a necessity to equip forged pistons, and high recommended for a a race motor or high performance street motor. We feel this is worth the upgrade in performance for these types of jobs.
For reasons when sleeving is simply not possible, we offer Mahle Motorsport pistons. These are the only choice of pistons you should consider for your (non sleeved) S62 build as Mahle is BMWs OEM for the factory equipped Alusil pistons and a leader in aftermarket pistons. Coated in Germany using Ferrotec technology, these are the worlds only directly compatible pistons for the S62.
