By now, the BMW community knows that not all S54 headers are created equal. Its easy to make a header out-flow the factory catalyst choked US spec manifold, but there is more to offering a real solution...

Aftermarket S54 headers present the following challenges, and we offer the solution:
-Fitment: Something on everyone's mind. We partnered with Fabspeed because they offer excellent fitment thought their product line. This saves you cost during install and valuable time. Also allows use of original S54 exhaust studs unlike others that typically require extended studs.
-Removal of Cats: These headers have built in Oxygen Sensor Spacers for the secondary (aka emissions) O2 sensors. Externally fitted sensors will typically not fit when screwed onto a normal set of S54 headers. These headers with the internal spacers allow you to fit your secondary O2 sensors in the factory location so no wire extensions are necessary! This can help alleviate annoying check engine lights.
-Power: Gains are strong throughout the power band. Both HP and torque are improved; not just one or the other.

These headers feature:

High quality 14-16 gauge, T304 stainless steel, with the precision of computer controlled mandrel bent primary tubes

Excellent fit and high precision welds that Fabspeed is known for

Allows use of original S54 exhaust studs

NOTES:
-Like all headers for the S54, on US spec cars headers replace the factory header/cats and eliminate the stock catalysts. It is important to know that this not a street legal modification. An understanding of the factory emissions system and ECU is required to eliminate a check engine light. This is not a guaranteed solution to defeat emissions.
-We do not claim that these headers are to be used without Catalysts, or that the O2 spacers are used to defeat emissions tests.
-Due to the fact that emissions and ECU regulations are different in each state, we sell these header as a "race part not legal for street use".

A note about S54 headers...
We often get asked about our experience with "Ebay headers" and it's been a roll of the dice. When coming from unscrupulous sources that simply blow out mass produced items, you don't know if your headers are going to be the ones "shown in the picture" or not. Many have awful O2 sensor fitment, and some don't even clear the floor of your car. About 1 in 8 properly fit when tested.
If we could sell you headers that worked perfectly for $300, we would be happy too... but until we find them, we recommend our choices above in each price range.
