VAC Named Tractive Motorsport Sequential Transmissions NA Importer
After debuting the Tractive Sequential Motorsport Transmissions at the PRI show, VAC has now been officially named the Exclusive North American Importer for Tractive Motorsport Transmissions, located in Borlange, Sweden. "After several meetings and many emails, we have determined that the Tractive Sequential Transmission quality is superb and we are proud to represent such a great product," says Tony Salloum, VAC President.
Tractive manufactures a superb line of Racing Sequential Transmissions and Differentials for both Front Wheel Drive (FWD) and Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) race cars including BMW applications. Transaxle and All Wheel Drive (AWD) versions are currently in the works and should be ready before the end of the year to complete a full line of proven Racing Sequential Gearboxes and Transmissions. In addition, a Heavy Duty Sequential Gearbox capable of handling 1000HP+ is also in the works and may be ready before the year's end. This will complete the line of Sequential Dog Ring Gearboxes which are truly universal.

In addition to Tractive's Sequential Transmissions, which are quickly becoming the sequential gearboxs of choice, Tractive also manufactures a Totally New Design Differential that is patented in Europe and Patent Pending in North America. This new design is similar to the conventional disc type Limited Slip Differentials (LSD) in only the fact that it retains a disc type layout. The other features are truly unique and make the Tractive Limited Slip Differential the only LSD diff to use when you are looking for that last tenth of a second. This LSD has proven to be significantly faster than others, on both dirt and tarmac (asphalt) and rally and road racing. These units have been tested in a variety of cars including BMW, Ford, Opel, Mitsubishi and other race cars.
Anders Johnsen, Tractive's Managing Director, says "A Tractive RD906 sequential gearbox has the strength to accept the torque from quite powerful engines. It is designed for up to 650 Nm of torque, or 480 lbs. ft. The RD906 gearbox has been used for many racing seasons in cars with very high torque, like Ferrari Maranello, BMW Langlauf cars with 600 Nm torque, Turbo charged saloon cars for circuit racing, with 1000 Nm torque, etc., so we have no doubt it can handle the forces from quite powerful engines. Experience has shown that even in applications where the engine has produced 800 Nm / 590 lbs.ft. and even up to 1000 Nm / 740 lbs.ft. the gearbox has performed reliably."
Mr. Johnsen adds "The RD906 has been on the market for over 14 years, It has been a very reliable product and now it has a history as well, proving what we have always claimed, that this gearbox will give you the best value for your money, no matter what you compare it with. Apart from the circuit racing applications I have mentioned earlier, it has been installed in many different types of RWD cars, from Ford MK2's to drag racing cars, Escorts with 1600 cc engines to turbocharged 1000 BHP monsters. Where other gearboxes have failed, the RD90 gearboxes have held up."
